How to verify your Facebook Business Page
Verifying a business on Facebook is reasonably easy and gives you a snazzy wee grey tick next to your business name - check out our Facebook Page to see the tick in action.
What are the benefits of verifying your Facebook Business Page?
It gives your page credibility - so people know that your business is real and has provided contact and verification details to Facebook
If you work in Digital Advertising, Social Media or provide any kind of Marketing Services (hello Virtual Assistants!) then a grey tick helps your potential clients recognise you as an expert who knows their social media stuff
Verified pages will rank higher on Facebook and on Google search results
It’s pretty AF
What do I need to get a grey tick for my Facebook page?
At the moment only certain page categories have access to the grey tick - Local Business, Company or Organisation. As well as having the right page category you’ll need to ensure you have the basics of your page set up.
To verify your Page on Facebook with a grey badge you can use your business’ publicly listed information or supporting documentation such as a phone or internet bill.

Extras for experts…
If you’re desperate for your grey tick it is possible to change your page category (head to your About section - your category field should be editable and then switch it back once you are verified.
If after switching categories the verification option still does not appear it may mean you do not meet the verification requirements for Facebook. So instead focus on creating regular, consistent, quality content to build your brand & community - then try again later.
